All contestants will receive an award for participating in the contest. These are the categories for competition at the Festival.

Come On Back Award Awarded to a returning Atlantic Provinces contestant in the 18 years and under class. $35.00	Ted MacPherson Memorial Award Awarded to the fiddler, 8 years and under who achieves the highest points. $20.00 and a trophy
Don Messer Memorial Award Awarded to the Maritime resident fiddler who achieves the highest points in the contest. $200.00 and a trophy
Fiddler’s Grand Prize Expense paid for one to “By the Canal Fiddle Camp”, August 18th – 22nd, 2013, just outside Ottawa. Includes registration, accommodations, meals, transportation. Maximum value $1500. No substitute in cash value. One name will be drawn from the First Place Fiddle Class Winners at Saturday Night’s Program. Tara Lynne Touesnard Memorial Award Awarded to the person who best exemplifies the qualities of Tara Lynne, her dedication to the preservation and enhancement of old time fiddling, devotion to community service and her pleasant and outgoing personality. This award is made by the Maritime Fiddlers Association and presented annually at the Maritime Fiddle Festival in recognition of Tara Lynne's contribution to fiddling.
